More finished projects.....

So I finally finished Alex's wall hanging can you believe it... I know it only took me a year oh well I've actually had it quilted and finished for a while I just hadn't bound it yet and so on the way to Utah I finished it... I'm slowly finishing my projects one at a time but the problem is that I keep adding more projects to the list!!

This is the rag quilt that I made for my cousin Cassandra she's having a little girl, were so excited. I got this kit at one of the quilt shops in town except there wasn't enough amterial for 3 of the big squares so I used some chennel I had left over instead and I think it turned out okay.... This is a baby boy recieving blanket I made I loved the material and had to get it. Katie and I learned how to do the corners perfect at the quilt retreat and we are going to put a little tutorial on how to do it, its so much eaisier then the way I was doing it and they turn out awesome!!!!
I made this reversable apron for our quilt guild apron challenge it was alot of fun to make.
These quilts are the ones my mom made for my cousin they turned out so cute and the quilting Janet did was so cute. We picked out the red fabric for my cousin becasue she really likes red I think they turned out so awesome and she loved them!!

Almost Forgot...

I've been reorganizing my fabric and I put it in this long tub so I could see it all really good! I'm sure you cant believe that I have more fabric than just this tub..... =)..... =) .....hehehe
I have my flannel in a different tub. Alex loved climbing on the tub he thought that I did it just for him!!!!

Quilt Retreat

This is the place that we had the quilt retreat, it's a back view but it was huge. The place was completely remodel and their was three floors. I had such a great time I was so glad Katie came it just made it so much more fun. I really miss our fun sewing days we had. Below our a couple projects that we finished. I'll let Katie talk about her's mine is the witch on the left. It's a buggy barn pattern and it was quite interesting technic in cutting and piecing. You stack all fat quarters on top of each other and cut out the witch with a pattern on top and then you move different pieces to the bottom so all of the witches are different. It took me a little bit to figure out but it turned out cute.... Its hard to tell but the witches legs are dangling. I would defenitly do a pattern like this again at least next time will know what to do.
I had other projects but they are gifts so I cant show them until I give them away so I will show them in a little bit. I also made an apron that I just finished but I haven't taken pic's of it so I'll get those on later...
This was the view I dont know if you can tell but in the background the Teton Mountians are there!!
We had the whole first floor setup with table's and sewing machines and cutting boards. It was so cool to see everyones projects they were working on there are alot of talented ladies in the guild.

Finally 2 finished projects!

Hello! I'm so excited to finally have something to post on this cute blog. Thanks for letting me be one of your sisters in quilting! Late last night I attached the rest of the binding on to Claire's quilt. Thanks Natalie so much for sharing this darling pattern with me. This is from Nancy Halvorson's Winsome Baby collection- it's the "pip sqeak" quilt. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I definitely need some more help and practice on doing hand applique, but I love doing the hand quilting!

My mom and I had fun putting this table runner together while I was visiting Boise. I did this fun fall runner. The fabrics are Moda's "Pumpkins Gone Wild." The pattern is from Heather Mulder Peterson's "Little Charmer's II." This one was my first time trying machine quilting- it was a lot easier than I expected- especially with that walking foot. My mom learned this great trick from another quilting friend: on the back of your table runner put a fabric for a different holiday or season. I put this summery juice fabric on the back- so now I can use it for more than one season!

I recently realized that finishing a project is very fulfilling. I've decided to make more time to quilt! It's relaxing as well as gives a real sense of accomplishment! Thanks for letting me share and for sharing your fun projects as well!

A quilter's must have!!!

Seriously this thing is amazing, if your like me and the ruler sometimes slides this little gripper works great. You can put it on any of your rulers and it just sticks with it suction cups. I love it, I just got it and I cant believe I didn't buy one sooner!!!
Also while I was searching on some blogs I found this SITE that had a tutorial for these cutest bag and it was so simple I had to make one and I just happened to have some fabric lying around(imagine that...) I made this is two hours thats how easy this was. I adjusted the size of it because I wanted it to be bigger it is a very versatile pattern. I also added pockets on the inside and I put the handle's in a different spot. A little tid bit though if you change the size just measure the outside piece before you sew the sides up so you have the measurements for the lining.
Also check out this SITE tutorail for cute storage cubes(scroll down to find it)!! There are some really creative people and I love when they share its great.

New Links

Well I've been looking for some inspiration and I found these really great sites with lots of other links to other peoples blog. They have really cute blog's and backgrounds so I decided to change ours up a little. It really helps to look at other peoples ideas and projects I really loved the flowers on Heather Baileys site and Simply this and that had alot of really good links to other quilt blogs. Alot of the sites are fabric designers and they have really great bright retro fabric. Anaka's treasures has a pattern of the week and she is giving away a pattern so check it out, here. Also I posted some of the projects that I have done, the pillow is a quilt guild challenge that I did we had to use only three fat quarters so I made this pillow for Alex I loved the fabric, the frogs were so cute! Then I made these baby blankets for a friends and his wife they are having twins...and a lady who just moved here is having a boy so I made one for her too. The fabric is a noah's arch fabric that is so cute!!

Projects!!

So I have been sewing and quite a bit of it. I have been practicing free motion quilting it has actually been a little less scarey then I thought. I made these little wall hangings for Alex and I got the truck pattern's from the shirt he's wearing. They were alot of fun. I am so close to finishing the frog wall hanging all I have to do if finish quilting half of it. So I will post a pic of that soon!
The quilts are ones that I made to sell at a baby boutique in town and I think they turned out pretty cute. Janet quilted them I'm only quilting small stuff maybe one day I'll have a big quilter and be able to do bigger projects!!
This is the boy one I did but as you can see I was finishing the binding on the way to town So I wanted a pic before I put them to sell!!! Janet did cute star's in all the brown blocks!
This was the way cute pink and brown one and Janet did flowers in the brown squares, this was my favorite even though I liked the other one too!!!
I also have been doing really cute things to onesises and I will post pic's of that later.

My Patriotic Project!

Well, I got this done in time for Flag Day, and have it up in the window in front of the house. It was nice to have it showing for Independance Day! It looks like maybe my star is too small.... That was the hardest part, making that star! If anyone has a template for a star please let me know! I plan on making another one for my mother-in-law and would love to have a short cut for making the star larger.

I Love Fat Quarters!!!

There is something about a patern that just draws me in!

I was in a green mood when I got these, and perfect for a little girl huh?!

These are so youthful and fun! Retro too.

Good ol' green and blue, I just love them!
I have a tupperware drawer FULL of fat quarters. When I see a cute pattern on fabric I can't help but reach for a fat quarter!

Fabric Crazy!

Now that we have this wonderful page to display our fabric addictions, here are a few of mine. I got these before all my neices were born... all 4 of them! However, sadly I haven't used any of them yet! But I know my girls room will be pink and green... so maybe I will keep them for my self! :)

Here is some felt fabric that I think is cute, so I plan on making a baby blanket that Nat has a patern for. I bet you can guess which is for the boy and which is for the girl.

....Imagine that!!
The pink & blue fat quarters go with the browns I have for the baby quilts they are going to be so cute...I love the fabric
As everyone knows I am addicted to fabric, well I'm making three baby quilts, & recieving blankets to sell at a baby boutique I found in town. Then besides the projects to sell I have Alex's frog wall hanging almost all done (I know you would be proud Katie) onto that I have three smaller wall hangings with big trucks and curtains which these are almost done to so I am making progress..... oh I also have a bag started for a quilt guild challenge and its almost done.... Now if I can get all this done this week that would be great and I can start a whole bunch more projects!!!
